My name Is Daniel Spyker and I come to you from Portland, Oregon with my wife and family of 4 children.
I have grown up in Oregon my whole life and I am currently working for The USPS. In my free time, I enjoy writing and learning about many different subjects.
I enjoy spending time with my family, watching the stock markets, and looking for ways to better the city I work in of Portland.
My interest peeked about the tales of the Shanghai Tunnels from a small article I read back around 2005. From there I knew there was a story to be had and with no formal training, I set out to make a great story.
I started with the goal of writing a screenplay because it was the shortest route to getting my story complete. I took a trip down memory lane and dug up some of my first drafts and notes from the garage 🙂
After writing the basics of the story out in longhand form, I knew I needed to type it out but back around 2006/2007, I could not afford a computer. At this time I was raising a small family of 4 and working in a warehouse. This may sound far off to some but I had to buy a typewriter from Goodwill a second-hand shop to get this thing typed up.
Once the screenplay was finished towards the middle of 2011 I was happy but wanted to see what others thought of my work. I entered it into a screenwriting competition. As a result, I received an exciting email a month later.
From there I decided to finish the job I began and almost 20 years later I have completed my task and I wish to share it with all who enjoy books. The process was long and arduous but I’m glad I did it.
The main force pushing me to finish this is for my children. I wanted to show them that if you have a vision or an idea you can bring it out for the world to see, no matter how long it may take. Now This takes a spot on our coffee table.
Thank you for your time.
